In a recent community council meeting held on 29 August 2023, several concerned residents came forward to voice their worries about a growing surge in crime throughout our community. The alarming increase in house break-ins and car thefts has left many residents feeling vulnerable and anxious about their safety.
Recognising the urgency of the situation, the community council has taken proactive steps to address these concerns. Following extensive discussions during the meeting, the community council has issued a formal letter addressed to all elected members representing Ward 21. This letter includes our Local Councillors, constituency MSP, regional MSPs, and MP.
In this letter, we have requested immediate action and allocation of additional resources to our local police force. The aim is to enhance their capacity to address and combat the escalating crime rates in our community effectively (copy below).
The safety and well-being of our residents are of paramount importance, and we believe that it is crucial for our elected representatives to work together with the local police to find effective solutions to this pressing issue.
We would like to thank all residents who attended the community council meeting and shared their concerns via email.
