Glasgow City Council has recognised concerns about road safety on B806 Gartloch Road, especially between Gartloch Road West Cottages and the boundary with North Lanarkshire Council.

To address these concerns, the Council proposes to extend the existing 40 MPH speed limit.

We know this has been an ongoing issue for Gartloch residents, and we are optimistic that this proposal will result in a positive outcome for our community.

Today, we rolled up our sleeves and made a big impact in Garthamlock!

Thanks to the hard work of our amazing volunteers and the support of the community, we completed a successful clean-up along Gartloch Road, the open spaces at the back entrance of Glasgow Fort, and sections of Coxton Place.

A massive shoutout to all the residents and community councillors who joined us, Councillor Sharon Greer for her support, and the incredible 56th Glasgow Scout Group for lending a hand. Together, we collected a whopping 18 bags of litter in just 1 hour!

Thank you all for your hard work and support. Further volunteers would be greatly appreciated in the future as we work to improve our local communities
