The Community Council is delighted to announce that weโ€™ve been able to source funding for the very first Gartloch Gala Day, which will be held on Saturday 13th September from 1pm โ€“ 5pm in Gartloch Village!

We have been working in collaboration with the Gartloch Alliance Group, who have been instrumental with supporting the planning and management of the event. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Come along and enjoy an afternoon filled with free activities, fun, and community spirit. There will be something for everyone, and we warmly welcome friends and families from across the wider community.

โœจ Save the date and bring your neighbours โ€“ letโ€™s make Gartloch’s first Gala Day one to remember!

What is Street Play?
Street Play gives communities the opportunity to temporarily close their roads to traffic for free, creating a safe, local space for children to play and neighbours to connect. Itโ€™s a simple idea that makes a big difference โ€” encouraging active play, outdoor fun, and stronger communities.

  • 27โ€“29 June 2025 (Apply by 13 June)
  • 26โ€“28 September 2025 (Apply by 12 September)

Whether you’re a parent, a resident, or just someone who loves the idea of bringing the street to life, you’re invited to get involved.

Now that the Local Place Plan consultation is complete, weโ€™re moving forward with plans to try and improve local pathways in Gartloch! In February, we met with Seven Lochs to discuss enhancing the routes from Bishop Loch to Easterhouse, improving connectivity for local residents.

These discussions were productive, and we are now in the process of identifying/applying for funding to develop and improve these pathways. The Community Council has been working hard to support this improvement, and we remain committed to seeking further investment as more opportunities become available.

Weโ€™ll keep you updated when we have further news.
