We are excited to announce an upcoming opportunity for local residents of Garthamlock, Craigend, and Gartloch to acquire essential life-saving skills. St Andrews First Aid is hosting a special training session on Tuesday, 15 August 2023, from 6pm to 7pm. The session will take place at the GESH Community Centre, located at 1 Redcastle Square, Garthamlock, G33 5EG.
Thanks to the proactive efforts of the community council, a defibrillator has been acquired for the Garthamlock area. To ensure that residents are well-prepared to respond in emergencies, St Andrews First Aid is providing comprehensive defibrillator and basic CPR training. This session is a fantastic opportunity for individuals to gain the knowledge and confidence needed to potentially save a life.

In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing challenges of the cost-of-living crisis, it became increasingly evident to the Garthamlock, Craigend, and Gartloch Community Council that addressing mental health concerns was of utmost importance. As a result, the council took a proactive step towards supporting residents by funding a series of mat-based yoga sessions. In collaboration with YoGlasgow, a local yoga provider, these sessions aimed to improve the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of the community members. Best of all, these sessions were offered free of charge over an 8-week period throughout May – July 2023.
